Risk and Compliance Officer

Job Description

We are in search of an experienced risk and compliance officer who will ensure that the organization conducts its business processes in compliance with laws and regulations, professional standards, international standards, and accepted business practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance and risk assessment and establish our company’s tolerance for risk.
  • Identify and eliminate malpractice in the organization resulting from policy flaws.
  • Provide compliance counseling, advisory, and decision support services to respective depts.
  • Develop a framework to track the progress of compliance levels (Business documentation, Insurance) and constantly update management on overall compliance levels with regulatory & non-regulatory laws.
  • Review our current compliance policies and procedures to identify areas of improvement
  • Draft new and update existing internal risk and compliance policies so that they match industry standards
  • Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance procedures are followed across the organization
  • Managing and monitoring adherence to internal controls
  • Creating and coordinating proper reporting channels for compliance issues
  • Developing company compliance communications
  • Coordinating and scheduling required compliance training for employees to educate and update employees on the organization’s compliance policies, regulations, and processes.
  • Prepare risk management reports for top-level management based on internal reviews and advise the executives on risk mitigation measures and implementation of an adequate compliance program
  • Participate in active engagement in achieving Goals & Objectives in line with the company’s vision relevant to the responsibilities granted to you, which may be amended occasionally.

Qualification/Entry Requirements

  1. A BSc/HND in business or Law or a related discipline.
  2. Completion of the Mandatory NYSC for Nigerian employees or its equivalent in other countries.
  3. 1-2 years of working experience as a risk and compliance
  4. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  5. Exceptional interpersonal, Analytical skills, and good communication skills
  6. Certification in Risk management is an added advantage

Additional Skills

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards
  • Professional certifications in risk and compliance like CRMP, CCEP
